Festival of lights of the office of family affairs delighted young and old
Together with their children, more than 100 employees and students followed the invitation to the pre-Christmas Festival of Lights. The guests enjoyed a family-friendly program of tasty treats and beautiful stories - a festive setting to discuss the family office's projects. Charité's family office had invited the Charité Center 9, the Charité Center 17 and the graduate college BIOQIC.
The extended board of the Charité cheered the little guests on the Christmas season with the stories "Pettersson gets Christmas visit" and "magic pageantry with Santa". They emphasized the initiatives of the Charité as a family-friendly company. An excellent holiday care on three campuses, child care, several parent-child rooms - all these are projects that benefit the employees and their children.
Sabine Barleben, head of the Office of Family Affairs, used the festival as an opportunity to summarize the projects in 2019 and to give an outlook on the year 2020, which will be marked by the family friendliness audit. She also thanked all supporters and sponsors: "With this celebration we would like to thank all people who support us with their projects, ideas and their commitment, who every day do their part to ensure that the tightrope walk of reconciliation of family and professional life in such a large hospital as the Charité."
Special thanks went to Jennifer Kaden, Heidrun Petke and Gerald Linczak, who, with their special commitment, made a major contribution to opening a daycare center in the campus clinic in the first half of 2020. Bianca Rösner, Jaqueline Schulze and Antje Völz from the infirmary 32 of the Clinic for Neonatology at the CVK received a thank you for offering the children of the holiday care an exciting and child-friendly first aid course. In addition, the Office of Family Affairs thanked the team at Rudolfs Bistro at the CVK, who provides uncomplicated delicious lunch for the children in the holiday care each year.
This year the varied program offered Christmas treats and a musical accompaniment by the children's choir "Schräge Vögel" of the Bornholm elementary school. Together with the visitors they sang classical carols and enthused young and old. The children could also have fun on a carousel and in the paint and make-up corner. The appearance of Santa, who distributed book gifts to all children, was the highlight of the afternoon for the little ones. So a selfie with Santa and his angel could not be missing.
